SimGas might spark the next revolution in the biogas sector. Worldwide.

SimGas BioGas

The SimGas “Shamba” comes in various volumes, from 2m³ upto 20m³

SimGas BV, a company from The Hague, The Netherlands, might spark the next revolution in the biogas sector. Worldwide.

For half of the prices of competing systems – by the way, that’s policy – SimGas’ biogas systems enable users to cook and light up their premises, and to fertilize their crops. But there is more.

SimGas has set-up the joint venture SimGas East Africa, with a Tanzanian tank manufacturer. Silafrica Tanzania Ltd takes also care for the regional marketing and sales infrastructure. And still this almost wonder story is not done yet.

SimGas BV mission is: “Empowering communities by delivering affordable small-scale biogas cooking solutions.” In order to make their biogas installations indeed obtainable for virtually everyone in rural areas, SimGas teamed-up with local micro-finance partners in their first target regions Tanzania and Kenya. And that works.

So far the social-economic highlights, what about the products itself?

Two main product lines:

  • The GesiShamba, a waste/biogas/fertilizer-converter, especially for rural regions. The “Shamba” comes in various volumes, from 2m³ upto 20m³
  • The GesiSafi product line is a range of kitchen waste systems that are more suited for use in urban and suburban areas

Healthy, nice price and a reduce of the CO2 foodprint

Instead of wood fires renewables lik this biogas installation are a huge step for the health of the people. Especially young children (see the statistics).

Furthermore we have seen: affordable prices, interesting payment agreements, intercultural business cooperation with local and regional partners, lowtech but smart applied techniques, could their be something else? You might have guessed it: yes, the environment. SimGas’ systems save up to 60 percent of the household use of wood. A smaller surroundings footprint and less CO2-exhaust. And last but not least: selling the product goes hand in hand with some environmental awareness.
